1 · Choose your direction
The two boxes at the top show what you're translating from (left) and to (right).
Tap the round ⇄ swap button between them to switch direction — e.g. from Tigrinya → English to English → Tigrinya.
Always check the left box matches the language you're about to type or scan.
Type — write your message
Type a word or sentence in the box and press Enter or the Translate button. Use Shift+Enter to start a new line.
Scan — translate a document or photo
Translate letters, forms, signs, or documents.
Tap Camera to photograph a page, or PDF / Image to pick a file.
Tap Extract & Translate.
For photos: good lighting and a straight-on angle give much better results. Remember to set the from language to the language of the document.
Paste — longer text from anywhere
Copy text from a website, message, or PDF, then paste it here to translate longer passages (up to 8,000 characters). Tap the Paste button to insert straight from your clipboard, or press Ctrl+Enter (⌘+Enter on Mac) to translate.
Copy translations
Every translation appears as a card in the conversation.
Tap the copy icon to copy text so you can send it in a message.
Tap Clear at the bottom to start a fresh conversation.
Tips & troubleshooting
First translation slow? The server may be waking up — wait a few seconds and try again.
You need an internet connection — translation runs on a server.
Scanning photos? Good lighting and a straight-on angle give much better results.
Install the app: in your browser menu choose "Add to Home Screen" for one-tap access.
